Historical Update
It has now been over 70 years since James Mitose introduced Kenpo to Hawaii. Since that time thousands of Schools/clubs have taught Kenpo to hundreds of thousands of students. The art is being taught under many different names. The following list will try to cover the majority of these names and listed in the approximate time frame they were introduced:
Kenpo Jui Jitsu (Mitose) - Kenpo (Mitose)Kenpo Karate (Chow using theChinese character (Kara) for Karate Hawaiian Kenpo GO-Shinjitsu Chow) Chinese Karate (Parker) American Kenpo (Dick Willett)Parker's American Kenpo - Shaolin Kenpo (Chow/Castro) -Kara-Ho-Kenpo (Chow). There are many other minor Variations.
